Jim Williams, born on December 8, 1968, is a famous former rugby union player and coach from Australia. He recently worked as an assistant coach for the Australian national rugby union team, also known as the Wallabies. In 2015, Jim Williams was the head coach for the Greater Sydney Rams in the National Rugby Championship.

Jim Williams' Early Life

Jim Williams was born in Young, New South Wales, Australia. When he was a boy, he played rugby league. He started playing rugby union after he joined the Australian Army at 17 years old. He played for a local club called Young RFC. Later, he moved to Brisbane and played for the Wests Bulldogs team.

Playing Rugby in England

In 1994, Jim Williams moved to England. He played for one season with the West Hartlepool rugby club.

Jim Williams' Australian Rugby Career

After returning to Australia, Jim Williams played club rugby in Sydney. He was close to joining the NSW Waratahs team. He became a stronger player when he switched to playing in the "back row" position. This change helped him get noticed by coach Eddie Jones.

Joining the ACT Brumbies

In 1998, Jim Williams joined the ACT Brumbies team. His excellent performance with the Brumbies led to him being chosen for the Australian national squad. He played for Australia in the 1999 Rugby World Cup.

Playing for Munster in Ireland
