Early Life and Growth
Jinnat Ali was born in 1996 in a village called Barabili. This village is in the Gorjania area, which is part of Ramu Upazila in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. His parents were Amir Hamza, a farmer, and Shahampura Begum. Jinnat was the second of their three sons. He lived with his parents, one sister, and two brothers.
His family noticed that Jinnat's body started to grow unusually fast when he was a child. This growth continued even when he was 23 years old. Doctors believed he would keep growing taller. Because of his rapid growth, he needed to eat a lot of food every day. This helped him keep his muscles strong and stay at a healthy weight.
His Health Condition
Doctors explained that Jinnat Ali had a condition called acromegalic gigantism. This is a rare condition that makes a person grow much taller than usual. It happens when a small growth, called a tumor, forms on a gland in the brain called the pituitary gland. This gland controls many hormones in the body. The tumor made Jinnat's body produce too much growth hormone. This extra hormone caused his body to grow abnormally.
Meeting the Prime Minister
Jinnat's unusual height was caused by this hormonal problem. Doctors tried to help him, but they could not fully stop his growth or solve all the health issues it caused. In 2018, Jinnat was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for treatment. There, doctors found out he had a brain tumor.
Later in 2018, Jinnat Ali met with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina. After their meeting, the Prime Minister gave Jinnat and his family a house. This kind gift helped make life more comfortable for Jinnat and his family, given his difficult health situation.
Treatment and Passing
Jinnat Ali received treatment for his hormonal imbalance at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University in Dhaka. Sadly, Jinnat Ali passed away on April 28, 2020. He was at Chittagong Medical College Hospital, where he was on life support in the neurosurgery department. His death was caused by the brain tumor and other health problems related to his condition.
