In 1823, many religious buildings in Spain were closed down. Joan had to travel around Spain for a few months. Later that year, he was allowed to return to Majorca.
Studying and Performing
In 1825, Joan went to Madrid to finish his studies in theology. While there, he played the organ at the Church of Our Lady of Atocha. He even met King Ferdinand VII, the ruler of Spain at the time.
