Joan Mir Mayrata is a famous Spanish motorcycle racer. He was born on September 1, 1997. Joan Mir is best known for winning the 2020 MotoGP World Championship with Suzuki. He also won the 2017 Moto3 World Championship title.

He was the first Suzuki rider to win the MotoGP title since 2000. He was also the first Moto3 world champion to win the top class title. Joan Mir is one of only a few Spanish riders to win the premier class championship.

Starting His Racing Career

Joan Mir began his racing journey in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. He competed in 2013 and 2014. In 2014, he finished second overall, showing his talent early on. He then raced in the CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship in 2015. He won four races that year.

Moto3 World Champion

Mir made his first Grand Prix appearance in 2015. He joined the Moto3 World Championship full-time in 2016 with Leopard Racing. He quickly showed his skill. He earned his first pole position and victory in Austria. He finished his rookie season in fifth place.

For 2024, Mir's teammate was Luca Marini. The 2024 season was also challenging for Mir. He faced ongoing struggles with his bike and had many crashes. He finished the 2024 season in twenty-first place.
