Growing Up
Joanna Krupa was born in Warsaw, Poland, on April 23, 1979. When she was five years old, her family moved to Illinois in the United States. She has a younger sister named Marta, who is also a model.
In Chicago, Joanna went to Mary Lyon Public School. Later, she attended Glenbard East High School and Steinmetz High School. After a while, her family moved and made their home in Los Angeles, California.
Discovering Modeling
As a child, Joanna learned classical dance. Later, she became very interested in modeling. When she was 13, her mom helped her join a modeling school. This was the start of her journey into the world of fashion and entertainment.

Working with PETA
On December 2, 2009, Joanna worked with People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). They released an advertisement to encourage people to adopt dogs. In the ad, Joanna was shown as an angel surrounded by dogs in a church.

Later, on March 25, 2018, she shared that she was engaged to Douglas Nunes. They married in a private ceremony on August 4, 2018, in Kraków, Poland. On November 2, 2019, they welcomed their daughter, Asha-Leigh Nunes. In March 2023, Joanna announced that she and Douglas had separated. Their divorce was finalized on October 4, 2023.
