Joanne Missingham (also known as Hei Jiajia; born May 26, 1994) is a professional Go player and actor. She was born in Australia but is Taiwanese. She is special because she was the first player born in Australia to become a professional Go player.
In 2010, she placed second in an important Go tournament called the Qionglongshan Bingsheng Cup. She also won the 1st Taiwan Wei-ch'i Association Women's Professionals Representative Right Ranking tournament. As of 2016, she holds a high Go rank of 7 dan. This makes her the highest-ranked female Go player in Taiwan.

About Joanne Missingham
Joanne Missingham was born in Brisbane, Australia, in 1994. When she was four years old, her family moved to Taiwan. Her father is Australian, and her mother, Hei Nanping, was Taiwanese. Joanne plays Go professionally using her mother's family name and her Chinese given name, Hei Jiajia.
Her Early Life and Go Training
Joanne learned Go from a professional player named Zhou Keping. Later, in 2005, she moved to San Diego with her family. In 2010, she became a 1 dan professional player with the Taiwan Chi Yuan. In the same year, she quickly moved up to 2 dan after finishing second in the Bingsheng Cup.
Standing Up for Fairness
In 2011, Joanne Missingham became well-known in the media. This happened when she and other female players refused to play in the Qiandeng Cup. They learned that male players were paid for each game, but female players were not paid at all. Later, in another tournament, she held up a fan that said "protest gender discrimination" in Chinese. This showed her strong belief in equal treatment.
Beyond the Go Board
In 2016, Joanne signed a contract with a Taiwanese music company called Seed Music. This deal allowed her to appear in commercials and TV shows. She has also acted in movies and TV series.
Acting Roles
She appeared in My Missing Valentine, a romantic comedy film from 2020. In this movie, she played a post office worker. She has also been in other productions, showing her talents beyond the game of Go.
