Joaquín Cordero (born August 16, 1922 – died February 19, 2013) was a famous Mexican actor. He starred in many movies, plays, and TV shows called telenovelas.
Biography
Joaquín Cordero was born in Puebla, Mexico. Soon after he was born, his family moved to Mexico City. When he was younger, he thought about becoming a priest and even studied in a seminary. Later, he started studying law.
However, after three years of law school, he decided he wanted to be an actor instead! This was a big decision, and his family wasn't happy about it at first.
Joaquín started his acting career with small parts in movies. But as he got older, he began to get much bigger and more important roles. He became one of the most popular actors in Mexican movies.
He also performed in theatre plays and on television. He was especially well-known for his work in telenovelas, which are like long TV dramas. He won many awards for his acting. Some of his later telenovelas included La Madrastra and Destilando Amor.
Death
Joaquín Cordero passed away on February 19, 2013, in Mexico City. His family shared that he was very sad after his beloved wife, Alma Guzmán, died in July 2012. He missed her very much.
Family
Joaquín Cordero's parents were Rafael Cordero Pita and Rosario Aurrecoechea. He also had a brother named Víctor Cordero Aurrecoechea.
Joaquín was married to Alma Guzmán. Alma was the half-sister of a well-known journalist, Maxine Woodside. Joaquín and Alma had a son named David.
