About Jody Williams
Jody grew up in California. She first learned about food by helping at her dad's hot dog stand in Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco. This is where she started to love serving food to people.
When she was 24, Jody moved to New York City. A year later, she traveled to Italy with chef Kathy Casey. There, she learned all about delicious Italian cuisine. After returning to the U.S., she became a chef at Italian restaurants in New York City. These included Tappo, Morandi, and Gottino. Gottino was especially famous for its wines.
Since September 2009, Jody has appeared on the Food Network show Chopped. She is a judge on the show, helping to decide who wins the cooking challenges.
Jody Williams also owns several popular restaurants. She runs Via Carota, an Italian restaurant in New York City's Greenwich Village. She opened this restaurant with her business partner, Rita Sodi. Together, they also started Commerce Inn in 2021. Jody also operates Buvette, which has locations in New York City, Paris, Tokyo, and London. She even wrote a book called Buvette: The Pleasure of Good Food.
