Joe Labero is a famous Swedish magician and illusionist. He was born on July 28, 1963, in Alvesta, Sweden. His stage name, Joe Labero, comes from the first two letters of his birth name: Lars Bengt Roland Johansson.

Joe Labero's Magic Journey
Starting with Magic
Joe Labero began his magic journey at just 12 years old. He got his first magic kit and started performing. At first, he called himself "Magino." In 1979, he won the Swedish junior championships of magic. This competition was held in Karlstad. During this time, he met Carlo Tornedo, another Swedish magician. Carlo became Joe's mentor, guiding him in his magic career. Carlo suggested that Joe use parts of his real name to create his stage name, "Joe Labero." Joe later officially registered this name.
Big Shows and Tours
In 1991, Joe Labero created his first major show. It was called A Magic Night. This show took place at Berns in Stockholm. It was a huge success and sold out many times. The show was performed 657 times in total. For the next few years, he toured with A Magic Night. He performed it across Sweden and in other countries until 1995.
In 1996, Joe Labero started a new show in Australia. This show was called Mystique. It was part of Danze Fantasy Productions. The show ran for 16 months at Conrad Jupiters Casino. The next year, he presented another show there, named Illusions.
In 1998, Joe brought Illusions to Sweden. He performed it with the original cast. This show was also a big hit. He continued performing Illusions until 1999. Then, he updated it and called it the Joe Labero show. He toured all over Sweden with this new show until 2002.
Unique Magic Experiences
After his big tours, Joe Labero created the Castle Tour in Sweden. This show was more personal and brought him closer to the audience. He later used a similar idea for his Ship of Illusions tour. For this tour, he traveled by boat around Scandinavia.
Joe also teamed up with piano artist Robert Wells. Together, they created Rhapsody in Rock with Magic. This was a grand show that mixed live orchestra music with magic tricks. They started this show in 2002. They later reunited for a similar show called the Christmas Spectacular Show.
In 2003, Joe Labero performed over 30 Ship of Illusions shows. These shows took place along the coast of Scandinavia. Even former US President Bill Clinton attended one of his shows.
In September 2007, Joe's show Invited to Labero began. This show had an Asian theme. It started at Rondo in Gothenburg, Sweden. By 2010, the show had been performed over 300 times. It had sold more than 300,000 tickets.
In 2010, Joe Labero also hosted magic shows at Hamburger Börs in Stockholm. These shows ran from September 10 to October 30. In November 2010, he hosted a six-month-long magic show. This show was at Jupiters Casino in Australia. Danze Fantasy Productions produced it.
In 2018, Joe Labero brought his newest show to Las Vegas. It was called INFERNO: The Fire Spectacular. This show was performed at the Paris Hotel and Casino.
Awards and Recognition
In July 2009, Joe Labero received a special award. He was named "Illusionist of the Decade." This award was given during the magic World Cup in Beijing. The World Cup took place from July 26 to July 31, 2009. Famous magicians like David Copperfield and Siegfried & Roy had received this award before him. The award recognizes world-touring illusions from 2000 to 2009. The Merlin Award Society gives out this prize. It is like the "Oscars" for the magic world. The society is based in Las Vegas.
Personal Life
Joe Labero is engaged to Anna Vinterfall. She is an international photographer. They have a daughter named Nicole Vinterfall Labero. Nicole was born on January 12, 2008.
