College Basketball Days
Before turning pro, Joe Pace played college basketball. He attended two different schools. First, he played for Maryland Eastern Shore. Later, he played for Coppin State. His time in college helped him prepare for a career in professional basketball.
Playing Professional Basketball
Joe Pace joined the Washington Bullets in 1976. This team is now known as the Washington Wizards. He helped the Bullets win a major championship. They became the NBA champions in the 1977–78 season. This was a big achievement for Joe and his team.
