Johanna Solano López (born October 9, 1990) is a famous person from Costa Rica. She is a TV host, model, actress, and a top athlete in triathlons. She also used to be a beauty queen. Johanna represented her country at the Miss Universe 2011 competition and made it into the Top 10!

Early Life and Education
Johanna Solano was born in San José, Costa Rica. Her parents are Sergio Solano Serrano and Ileana López Araya. She is the second of four children in her family.
Johanna is very smart and loves to learn. She studied psychology at Hispanameric University in Heredia. She is also great at languages! She can speak Spanish, Portuguese, and English very well.
Her Pageant Journey
Before becoming a well-known athlete, Johanna was famous in the world of beauty pageants. She won two big titles that helped her represent Costa Rica on a global stage.
Miss Latin America 2009
In 2009, Johanna competed in the Miss Latin America pageant. This exciting event took place in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. On May 23, she was crowned Miss Latin America 2009! This was a big win for her and for Costa Rica.
Miss Costa Rica 2011
After her success in Miss Latin America, Johanna competed for the title of Miss Costa Rica. On March 25, 2011, she won the crown at an event in San José. Winning Miss Costa Rica meant she would get to represent her country at the biggest beauty pageant in the world: Miss Universe!
Competing in Miss Universe 2011
On September 12, 2011, Johanna Solano proudly represented Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2011. The competition was held in São Paulo, Brazil. Johanna did an amazing job and finished in the Top 10! This was a very special moment for Costa Rica, as it was the first time their representative had placed so high since 2004.
Life After Pageants: Triathlon Star
After her time in beauty pageants, Johanna found a new passion: triathlon! A triathlon is a tough race that combines swimming, cycling, and running. Johanna started training hard and soon became a competitive triathlete.
She has achieved great success in this sport. For example, on May 15, 2017, she won first place in her age group (25–29) at the Ironman 70.3 Monterrey in Mexico. Later that year, on November 26, 2017, she earned third place in her age group (25-30) at the Ironman Cozumel, also in Mexico. Johanna has continued to compete and finish strong in many Ironman races around the world, showing her amazing determination and athletic skill. She even competed in the Costa Rica Triathlon Series in 2024, proving her strength once again!
