John Arbuthnott, 10th Viscount of Arbuthnott was an important Scottish nobleman. He was born in Kincardineshire, Scotland, on July 20, 1843. He passed away at Arbuthnott House on November 30, 1895.
John Arbuthnott took over his father's title, becoming the 10th Viscount of Arbuthnott, in 1891. He also served as a Deputy Lieutenant for Kincardineshire. This role meant he helped the Lord-Lieutenant, who represents the King or Queen in a county.
Early Life and Family
John Arbuthnott was the son of John Arbuthnott, 9th Viscount of Arbuthnott. He followed in his father's footsteps to become the next Viscount.
Marriage and Children
On April 20, 1871, John Arbuthnott married Anna Harriet Allen. Their wedding took place at Inchmartine House in Scotland. Anna was born in London around 1852 or 1853. She was the only daughter of Edmund Allen of Strathmartin. Sadly, Anna passed away at Arbuthnott House on April 23, 1892.
Succession
After John Arbuthnott, the title of Viscount of Arbuthnott went to his brother. His brother, David Arbuthnott, 11th Viscount of Arbuthnott, became the 11th Viscount.
