John D'Or Prairie is a community in northern Alberta, Canada. It is a First Nations settlement. This means it is a place where Indigenous people, specifically the Little Red River Cree Nation, live. The community is located on their Indian reserve, which is land set aside for First Nations people.

You can find John D'Or Prairie along the Lawrence River. This river flows into the larger Peace River. The community is also south of the tall Caribou Mountains. It sits about 290 meters (950 feet) above sea level.

John D'Or Prairie is part of a larger area called Census Division No. 17. It is also part of the federal voting area known as Peace River.

Getting to John D'Or Prairie

It's easy to reach John D'Or Prairie. The community has its own small airport, called the John D'Or Prairie Aerodrome. There is also a road that connects the settlement to Alberta Highway 58. This highway is located north of the reserve.
