John Glover's Life Story
John Glover was born in 1714. When he was 13 years old, he left school. He then began an apprenticeship in business. This meant he worked for someone to learn a trade or skill. Later in his life, he was able to stop working. This was because he received money from an uncle who had passed away. This money is called a legacy.
New Ideas and Health Challenges
In 1748, John Glover was living in Norwich, England. He became very interested in the teachings of the Methodists. This was a new Christian movement at the time. He also wrote letters to Anne Dutton, who was a well-known Calvinist writer. Her beliefs were also a part of the Christian faith.
By 1761, John Glover's health began to fail. Because of this, he stopped working in business completely.
