Education and Early Life
John Sherman went to the University of Houston from 1984 to 1988. This was before he became a well-known bodybuilder.

John Sherman started his bodybuilding career by competing in amateur shows. He quickly showed great talent and strength.
Amateur Success
John had many important wins early in his career. In 1987, he won first place in the lightweight division at the NPC Texas State Championships. The next year, in 1988, he won the overall and middleweight titles at the NPC Collegiate Nationals.
His biggest amateur win came in 1992. He became the overall and light-heavyweight champion at the NPC Nationals. This victory helped him become a professional bodybuilder.
Becoming a Pro Bodybuilder
After turning professional, John Sherman competed in many major events. He faced some of the best bodybuilders in the world. He often placed well in tough competitions.
