John Haymes Newton, born on December 29, 1965, is an American actor. He is well-known for playing Clark Kent in the TV show Superboy during its first season. He also played Ryan McBride in the TV series Melrose Place. Today, he focuses on energy healing, which is a type of wellness practice.

Acting Career
Early Roles and Superboy
John Newton is most famous for his role as Clark Kent, also known as Superboy. He played this main character in the TV series Superboy. He was the lead actor during the show's first season, from 1988 to 1989. Another actor, Gerard Christopher, took over the role of Superboy for the rest of the series.
Years later, in 2006, John Newton appeared on the DVD release of Superboy: The Complete First Season. He was part of a special documentary about how the show started. He also shared his thoughts on two episodes with the show's executive producer, Ilya Salkind.
Other Television Work
Besides Superboy, John Newton had regular roles in other TV shows. These included Melrose Place and The Untouchables. He also had a recurring role on Models, Inc.. Both Models, Inc. and Melrose Place were part of the same TV universe, the Beverly Hills, 90210 franchise.
Movies and Voice Acting
John Newton also starred in several movies. He was in The Christmas Card in 2006. In 2009, he appeared in the independent film Yesterday Was a Lie.
In 2011, John Newton and his wife, Jennifer, lent their voices to an animated fan film. They voiced Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane in Superman Classic. This film was made by animator Robb Pratt.
