John competed in many Olympic Games. He took part in the Olympics in 1968, 1972, 1976, 1984, 1988, and 1992. He did not compete in 1980. His best result at the Olympics was finishing seventh. He achieved this twice in the Mixed Trap event, first in 1972 and again in 1976.
Winning Gold Medals
John Primrose won several important medals during his career. He earned a gold medal at the World Championships in 1975. He won another gold medal at the World Championships in 1983. A big moment for him was winning a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton in 1978. He was also honored by being added to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame. This happened after he won his first Commonwealth gold medal in New Zealand.
