John Andrew Rabb was born on June 23, 1960. He is an American former professional baseball player. John played as a catcher in baseball. His career lasted for 14 seasons, from 1978 to 1991. He played 108 games in Major League Baseball (MLB). He mostly played for the San Francisco Giants.

John Rabb's Baseball Journey
John Rabb was a right-handed batter and thrower. He was chosen by the San Francisco Giants in the 1978 Major League Baseball Draft. This was after he finished high school.
Starting in the Minors
In 1982, John got a short chance to play with the Giants. This was after he hit 22 home runs for a team called Phoenix. Phoenix was a Triple-A team, which is a high level in the minor leagues. After this, he went back to the minor leagues in 1983.
Rising to the Majors
John had a great start in the Pacific Coast League in 1983. He had 51 runs batted in (RBIs) and hit ten home runs. His batting average was .343 in 62 games. Because of his strong play, the Giants called him up to San Francisco in June.
He played as a backup catcher for Bob Brenly in 1983 and 1984. Later, the Giants traded John to the Atlanta Braves in 1985. He played only a few games for the Braves. His last MLB games were with the Seattle Mariners in 1988.
