Becoming a Fashion Designer
John Saldivar started his journey in the fashion world in 2001. He began by working as an apprentice with the famous designer Oscar de la Renta. An apprentice is like a student who learns a skill by working closely with an expert.
While working with Oscar de la Renta, John met André Leon Talley. André Leon Talley was an important editor at Vogue Magazine, a very well-known fashion magazine. Later, André Leon Talley hired John as his personal assistant.
Launching His Own Collection
Before starting his own clothing line, John Saldivar gained more experience. He worked with other designers like Catherine Malandrino and Lucien Pellat-Finet.
