John T. Morgan Academy, often called Morgan Academy, is a school located in Selma, Alabama, USA. It was started in 1965.
History of Morgan Academy
Morgan Academy was founded in 1965. This was a time when schools in the southern United States were changing. Many private schools were created then. The first classes in 1965 were held in the John Tyler Morgan House. A new campus was built for the school in 1967.
The school is named after John Tyler Morgan. He was a general during the American Civil War. Later, he became a U.S. Senator.
In 2008, Morgan Academy welcomed its first Black student. This happened 41 years after the school first opened. Bryan Oliver became the headmaster of the school in 2021.

- Gunnar Henderson (2019), a professional baseball player who is an MLB All-Star shortstop.
