John Terry's Life and Work
Early Life and Education
John Terry went to New College, Oxford, which is a very famous university in England. He was a talented student and became a "fellow" there. This meant he was a scholar or teacher at the college. In 1590, he left Oxford to become a priest in a town called Stockton, Wiltshire.
His Writings and Ideas
John Terry was known for his writings, especially his book called The Triall of Truth. This book, published in 1600, discussed and challenged some of the beliefs of Roman Catholicism. He wrote several other books that explored religious ideas and truth.
