Joachim Winterscheidt (born January 13, 1979), better known as Joko, is a German television host, producer, and actor. He is very famous in Germany, especially for the shows he creates and hosts with his partner, Klaas Heufer-Umlauf. Together, they are known as the duo Joko & Klaas.

Joko grew up in the town of Waldniel. He started his television career in 2005 as a host for MTV Germany. In 2010, he and Klaas began working for the TV production company Endemol, where they developed many of their famous shows. After living in Berlin for a while, he moved to Munich with his family in 2015.

Television Career

Joko is best known for the exciting and funny shows he hosts with Klaas Heufer-Umlauf. Their partnership has led to some of Germany's most popular TV programs.

Joko and Klaas have worked together on many shows. Some of their most famous ones include:

  • Joko gegen Klaas – Das Duell um die Welt: In this show, which started in 2012, Joko and Klaas travel to different countries to complete difficult and often strange challenges.
  • Circus HalliGalli: This was a popular late-night talk show that ran from 2013 to 2017. It was known for its celebrity guests, funny sketches, and live music.
  • Die beste Show der Welt: A show where Joko and Klaas compete to create the best TV show concept in front of a live audience.
  • Joko & Klaas gegen ProSieben: In this series, the duo competes against their own TV channel, ProSieben. If they win, they get 15 minutes of live TV time to do whatever they want.

Other TV Work

Besides his work with Klaas, Joko has also hosted shows on his own. In Beginner gegen Gewinner (Beginner vs. Winner), amateur athletes competed against professionals. He is also a judge on Das Ding des Jahres (The Thing of the Year), a show where inventors present their new creations.
