Joseph Jules Thomas Prinsen, born on June 9, 1942, is a well-known Dutch actor, TV host, singer, and writer. He became famous for his roles in popular Dutch TV shows like De stratemakeropzeeshow, Het Klokhuis, and De Zevensprong. He also hosted the quiz show Met het mes op tafel. In 2004, he received a special honor, becoming an Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau, which is like getting a medal for his important work.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Prinsen was born in Vught, a town in the Netherlands. After finishing his studies at the Toneelschool Amsterdam, a drama school, he started his acting career. His first stage role was in 1969.
Television Career
Children's Shows
In the early 1970s, Joost Prinsen became a household name. He starred in the children's TV show De stratemakeropzeeshow. This show was created by Aart Staartjes. Prinsen played a character named Erik Engerd. The show was very popular and taught children about many different topics.
After De stratemakeropzeeshow, Prinsen continued to work on children's television. In 1979, he starred in J.J. De Bom voorheen De Kindervriend. In this show, he played Jan J. de Bom, who owned a toy shop.
In 1982, he appeared in the TV series De Zevensprong. This series was based on a book by the famous writer Tonke Dragt. Since the early 1990s, Prinsen has also played various roles in Het Klokhuis. This is an educational children's program that explains many things about the world.
Quiz Show Host
From 1997 until 2015, Joost Prinsen was the host of the popular quiz show Met het mes op tafel. He was known for his calm and friendly way of leading the show.
Writing and Personal Life
Besides acting and presenting, Prinsen is also a writer. He has written articles for local newspapers. He has also written for magazines about cycling and bridge, which is a card game.
In March 2007, he published a book called De scharrelaar. This book was a collection of his diary entries and articles. A year later, he released another book about bridge, titled Een goede speler is niet eerlijk.
Joost Prinsen is in a relationship with Noraly Beyer, who used to be a news presenter. In 2023, they both appeared together in an episode of the TV series Nood.
