Early Life and Education

Jordan Calloway's father is Joseph Calloway, a cinematographer who works on movies and TV shows. Jordan is the youngest of his siblings. When he was a kid, he dreamed of becoming a Navy SEAL. His brother was the one who was first interested in acting.

Calloway went to Maranatha High School and graduated in 2009. He was a talented athlete and played on the school's main baseball team for all four years. After high school, he attended Azusa Pacific University. He earned a degree in TV and film production.

Acting Career

First Roles on TV

Calloway started his acting career with small parts in popular TV shows. In 2000, he appeared in an episode of The Parkers. He also had guest roles in shows like The District and George Lopez. These early experiences helped him learn about acting on a professional set.

Breakthrough on Nickelodeon

In 2004, Calloway landed his first major role as Zach Carter-Schwartz in the Nickelodeon series Unfabulous. He was a main character on the show for all three seasons, until it ended in 2007. The show was about the life of a middle school student, and Calloway's character was one of her best friends. This role made him a familiar face to young audiences.

For his work on Unfabulous, Calloway and the rest of the cast were nominated for a Young Artist Award three years in a row (2005, 2006, and 2007).

Growing as an Actor

After Unfabulous, Calloway took on more serious and varied roles. From 2005 to 2006, he had a recurring role as K.J. Thibeaux in the famous medical drama ER. A recurring role means he appeared in several episodes as the same character.

He continued to appear in many different TV shows, including The Glades, Switched at Birth, and House of Lies. He also acted in TV movies like DisCONNECTED and Drumline: A New Beat.

Major Roles in Popular Series

In 2017, Calloway joined the cast of the popular teen drama Riverdale as the character Chuck Clayton. He appeared in six episodes between 2017 and 2018.

His next big role came in 2018 when he was cast as Khalil Payne, also known as Painkiller, in The CW superhero series Black Lightning. He started as a recurring character in the first season but was promoted to a main character for seasons two through four. His character was a high school athlete who becomes a powerful and troubled anti-hero.

Recent Work

Calloway has also appeared in movies. He played Matt Monroe in the 2019 horror film Countdown and Mark in the romantic comedy Always a Bridesmaid.

Since 2022, Calloway has starred as Jake Crawford in the CBS drama Fire Country. The show is about a group of firefighters in Northern California, and he plays one of the main characters.
