Leading Farmers and Ranchers
Jorge Aguado was a strong leader for people working in agriculture. He was president of the Confederation of Rural Associations of Buenos Aires and La Pampa (Carbap) from 1974 to 1978. After that, he led the Argentine Rural Confederations (CRA) from 1978 to 1981.
He made a lasting impact on farming organizations. Carbap remembered Aguado as someone who helped train new leaders. They also said he was a "defender of agricultural production." This means he believed farming was key to Argentina's growth. In 2007, Carbap gave him an award called "Pilares de Carbap" (Pillars of Carbap).
Many farm leaders remember that Aguado strongly disagreed with the government's price control policy in 1974. This policy tried to set limits on how much things could cost. Aguado often said, "Principles are not negotiable." He taught this idea to many new farmers and ranchers.
