Jorge Hernán Bermúdez Morales (born June 18, 1971) is a former professional football player from Colombia. He was a strong defender who played for many teams. He also played for the Colombian national team 56 times.

Playing Career: A Football Journey
Jorge Bermúdez started his football journey in Colombia. He began his career with Deportes Quindío in 1989. Interestingly, he also finished his playing career with the same team 17 years later.
Playing for Colombian Clubs
During his time in Colombia, Bermúdez played for several well-known clubs. These included América de Cali, Deportivo Quevedo, Deportivo Pereira, and Independiente Santa Fe. He was a key player for these teams.
Playing Abroad: International Teams
Bermúdez also played for famous clubs outside of Colombia. He joined Benfica in Portugal. Later, he moved to Boca Juniors in Argentina, where he became very successful. He also played for Olympiacos in Greece, Newell's Old Boys in Argentina, and Barcelona SC in Ecuador.
Winning Big with Boca Juniors
His time with Boca Juniors was especially successful. He helped the team win many important titles. In 2000, they won the Copa Libertadores, which is a huge South American club competition. They also won the Intercontinental Cup in the same year. Bermúdez also celebrated three league titles with Boca Juniors. These were the Apertura 1998, Clausura 1999, and Apertura 2000 championships.

Jorge Bermúdez was a proud member of the Colombian national team. He played in the 1992 Summer Olympics. He also represented his country in the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Additionally, he played in three Copa América tournaments: in 1995, 1997, and 1999. He scored 2 goals in 56 appearances for his country.
Life After Playing: Coaching and Management
After retiring as a player, Bermúdez continued to be involved in football. He took on roles as a manager for several teams.
