Jorge Cruise (born March 6, 1971) is an author and fitness trainer from Mexico City, Mexico. He is known for his books about healthy eating and exercise. Jorge Cruise supports ideas like intermittent fasting (eating only during certain hours) and low-carbohydrate diets (eating less sugar and starchy foods).
He has written many popular books. Some of these, like The Belly Fat Cure and The 3-Hour Diet, became bestsellers. His most recent book is called The Cruise Control Diet.
Helping People Get Healthy
Jorge Cruise started his career helping people with fitness. He worked with famous life coach Tony Robbins. Later, he got a big chance when Oprah Winfrey hired him. She also showed his work on her TV show and in her magazine. This helped him become very well known.
Over the years, Jorge Cruise has created different diet plans. At first, he focused on building muscle to help your body burn more energy. Books like 8 Minutes in the Morning and The 12-Second Sequence were about this.
Later, his ideas changed. He suggested eating smaller meals more often, as seen in The 3-Hour Diet. Then, he started recommending plans with less sugar and carbohydrates, like in The Belly Fat Cure. His newest plan, The Cruise Control Diet, combines eating less sugar with intermittent fasting.
Understanding Diet Plans
Some of Jorge Cruise's diet plans have been called "fad diets." A fad diet is a popular eating plan that promises quick results. However, these diets might not be healthy or easy to follow for a long time.
For example, The 3-Hour Diet suggested eating every three hours. Some experts worried this could lead to eating too much. It could also affect dental health.
Another book, The 100, suggested eating only 100 calories from sugar each day. While this might lead to fast weight loss, dietitians have said it can be hard to keep the weight off. This is because very strict diets are often difficult to stick with over time. It's important to find healthy eating habits that you can maintain.
TV Appearances
Jorge Cruise has appeared on many television shows. He often shares his fitness and diet advice with a wider audience.
