Jorge Luengo (born on February 18, 1984, in Cáceres) is a famous Spanish magician and illusionist. He is often called the "World Champion of Illusion" (Spanish: Campeón del Mundo de Ilusionismo). Jorge won a big award at the FISM Championship of Magic in Beijing in 2009 for his amazing inventions.

Becoming a Magician

Jorge started performing magic when he was just 15 years old. By the time he was 17, he was already doing weekly shows! When he turned 18, he began studying engineering at university. He even earned three engineering degrees.

At 20, Jorge started performing in theaters. Since then, he has traveled all over Europe for magic events. He has performed in famous places like the Louvre Museum in Paris, the Pierre Baudis Congress Centre in Toulouse, and the O2 Arena in Prague.

Magic on TV

Before becoming a full-time magician, Jorge worked as a math teacher for almost three years. After that, he focused only on magic. He has appeared on many TV shows. He even hypnotized famous people around the world, like the motorcycle racer Marc Márquez.

In 2012, Jorge lent his voice to a young magician character in Sorcery. This was a Sony video game for PlayStation 3. The main character in the game even had a white lock of hair, just like Jorge! In 2018, he also taught magic on the Spanish TV series Pura magia.

As a magician, mentalist, and speaker, Jorge has been on many national TV shows. He has performed for important people like the Spanish royal family. He has also entertained famous athletes and artists, including Rafael Nadal, Cristiano Ronaldo, Joaquín Sabina, Alejandro Sanz, Cristina Pedroche, and Carlos Baute.

TV Shows and Books

Jorge has worked on many TV programs. These include Todo Va Bien, ¡Qué tiempo tan feliz!, Cabaret Olé, Hermano mayor, Hoy cocinas tú, and Las mañanas de la 1. He even had his own show called Desafío Mental on the DMAX (Spanish TV channel) channel. He has also been a guest on popular shows like Masterchef, Zapeando, and Pasapalabra. He appeared on these shows when they were on both Telecinco and Antena 3.

In 2018, Jorge Luengo wrote a book called Supertrucos mentales para la vida diaria. This means "Super Mental Tricks for Daily Life."

In 2019 and 2020, he hosted two special magic shows on Telemadrid. These were 'La Estrella de la Navidad' (The Christmas Star) and 'La Magia del Amor' (The Magic of Love). He has also been part of shows on Canal Extremadura, such as 'Extremadura Mágica' and 'Sígueme'.

Since January 2021, Jorge has been a regular guest on the show 'El show de Bertín' on Canal Sur.

Awards and Achievements

Jorge Luengo has won many important awards for his magic:

  • In 2006, he won his first national award at the French National Magic Congress.
  • Two years later, he won first prize at the Spanish National Magic Award.
  • In 2009, he went to the World Championship of Magic in Beijing. This event is sometimes called the Magic Olympics! There, he won an FISM Award and a World Magic Award. He was the only winner in the "Invention" category, earning the Gold Medal of Magic.
