José Joaquín Rojas Gil (born on June 8, 1985) is a Spanish former professional road racing cyclist. He rode his bike in races all over the world from 2006 until he retired in 2023. Rojas was known as a strong rider who could sprint fast and help his team.

Rojas's Cycling Journey
José Joaquín Rojas started his professional cycling career in 2006. He joined a team called Liberty Seguros-Würth. His older brother, Mariano Rojas, was also a professional cyclist.
Racing in the Tour de France
Rojas was chosen to race in the famous Tour de France several times. This is one of the biggest cycling races in the world!
In the 2012 Tour de France, he had to stop racing early. He fell during Stage 3 and broke his left collarbone. This kind of injury can happen in cycling.
He came back for the 2013 Tour de France. He finished 79th overall, which was a great result for a sprinter. He also did well in the points competition, finishing 7th. He even got third place in one stage, showing his speed.
In the 2014 Tour de France, Rojas faced a challenge. He was disqualified from the race. This happened because he got too much help from his team car during a downhill part of the race. Rules are very strict in professional cycling!
