Who is José Larralde?
Early Life and Talents
José Larralde started writing songs when he was very young, around seven years old. Even then, his songs talked about social topics. As he grew up, he wrote many songs about different jobs, situations, and people he met.
José has a background from Iraq and Basque country. Before becoming a full-time musician, he worked many different jobs. He was a bricklayer, a farm worker, a welder, and a mechanic. These experiences helped him write songs that many people could relate to.
A Voice for Fairness
In 1967, another famous Argentine artist, Jorge Cafrune, helped José by including some of his songs on an album. That same year, José Larralde released his very first album, called Canta José Larralde. He went on to release over 30 albums in Argentina.
José Larralde is unique because he didn't seek out a lot of fame. He often avoided big concerts and promotions. Even so, his music became popular not just in Argentina but also in many other countries. People in Germany, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Chile, and Spain enjoyed his songs. His lyrics often speak about social issues and the importance of being fair to everyone.
