José Maria Fidélis dos Santos (born 13 March, 1944), known simply as Fidélis, is a former Brazilian football player. He was a strong defender who played for several important clubs in Brazil. Fidélis also had the honor of playing for the Brazil national team.
Playing for Clubs
Fidélis started his professional football journey in 1962. He played for a team called Bangu until 1968. After that, he joined Vasco da Gama, which is a very famous club in Brazil. He played there for many years, from 1969 to 1974.
During his time at Vasco da Gama, Fidélis played in Brazil's top football league, the Série A. He was a reliable defender for his teams. Later in his career, he also played for other clubs like América, ABC, Operário, and São José.
