José Pedro Fuenzalida Gana was born on February 22, 1985. He is a Chilean former football player. He played as a right winger, which means he was a player who usually played on the right side of the field.

Football Journey: Club Career
José Pedro Fuenzalida started his football journey at Universidad Católica. He joined their youth team in 1996. By 2004, at age 19, he moved up to the main team. His first game was a tough 4–0 loss against Unión Española. At the same time, he tried to study business, but he soon focused only on football.
A Break for Studies
In 2007, when he was 22, Fuenzalida took a break from football. He decided to study commercial engineering at a university. After six months, he missed playing. He then returned to professional football.
Playing for Rivals: Colo-Colo
After his break, Fuenzalida joined Colo-Colo, a big rival of his first club. He signed a four-year deal. He played his first game for them in January 2008. He scored his first goal against Deportes Antofagasta. Later that year, he went on loan to O'Higgins for a while.
He came back to Colo-Colo in 2010. He helped the team win the 2014 Torneo Apertura title. This was his first big win with the club.
Time in Argentina: Boca Juniors
In July 2014, Fuenzalida moved to Argentina. He joined Boca Juniors, a very famous club there. He played for them for about a year and a half.
Back Home: Universidad Católica
In 2016, Fuenzalida returned to his first club, Universidad Católica. He joined them as a free agent. He quickly helped the team win the Torneo Clausura title. He played for Universidad Católica until the end of the 2022 season. He didn't officially say he was retiring at first. But in April 2023, his wife confirmed that he had stopped playing football professionally.
Playing for Chile: International Career
Fuenzalida also played for the Chile national team at different levels. He played for the Under-20 team in the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He also played for the Under-23 team in the 2008 Toulon Tournament.
He was often called to play for the main Chile team. He played in the qualifiers for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. In 2014, he was chosen for Chile's team for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the 2015 Copa América and the 2016 Copa América. Chile won both of these Copa América tournaments!
Life After Football: Personal Life
After retiring from football, José Pedro Fuenzalida moved with his family to Los Angeles, California, in the United States. He started studying English there.
