Early Life and College

Jose Slaughter was born in Los Angeles, California. He went to Compton High School in Compton, California. After high school, he played college basketball for the University of Portland. He played there from 1978 to 1982.

During his time in college, Jose was a very good player. He was named to the First-team All-WCC twice. This happened in both 1981 and 1982.

Professional Basketball Career

Jose Slaughter was chosen by the Indiana Pacers in the 1982 NBA draft. He was the 43rd player picked overall. This made him a second-round draft pick.

NBA Season

Slaughter played for the NBA's Indiana Pacers during the 1982-83 season. In that season, he averaged 5.7 points per game. He also got 1.9 rebounds per game.

Other Leagues

After his time in the NBA, Jose Slaughter played for several other basketball teams. He played in different leagues from 1983 to 1992.
