Joseba Jon Larrinaga Perea (born June 5, 1968 – died May 7, 2013) was a talented athlete from Spain. He was a paralympic athlete, meaning he competed in sports for people with disabilities. Joseba's Paralympic Journey

Joseba competed in the Paralympic Games twice. His first time was at the 1996 Atlanta Games. There, he took part in two events. He ran in the 5000-meter race, finishing in fifth place. He also competed in the marathon. In the marathon, Joseba won a silver medal! He ran in a special category for athletes with different types of disabilities (T42-46). Another Spanish athlete, Javier Conde, won the gold medal in that race. Javier even set a new world record.

Joseba competed again at the 2000 Sydney Games. This time, he focused only on the marathon. He ran well, but he did not win a medal. He finished the race in fifth place.

Later Life and Legacy

Joseba passed away on May 7, 2013. He was in Aramaio when he died. He was riding his bicycle and was sadly hit by a car. Joseba is remembered as a dedicated paralympic athlete. He inspired many people with his achievements in long-distance running.
