Josep Caballé Domenech (born 1973) is a talented Spanish conductor. He leads orchestras and opera performances around the world. Currently, he is the main conductor for the Moritzburg Festival in Germany. He is also in his eighth year as the Music Director of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic in the USA.
Josep Caballé Domenech has held many important roles. He was the General Music Director of the Staatskapelle Halle in Germany from 2013 to 2018. He also led the Bogotá Philharmonic Orchestra in Colombia in 2018. From 2005 to 2007, he was a main guest conductor for the Norrköping Symphony in Sweden. He was even a special student, or "protégé," of the famous conductor Sir Colin Davis.

Early Life and Training
Josep Caballé-Domenech was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1973. He grew up in a family of musicians. From a young age, he studied many instruments. These included piano, percussion, singing, and violin.
He also took conducting lessons from famous teachers. Some of his teachers were David Zinman and Jorma Panula. He studied at the Aspen Music Festival and Vienna's University of Music and Scenic Arts.
His Conducting Journey
Josep Caballé Domenech has worked with many amazing orchestras. He recorded "Respighi's Roman Trilogy" with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also conducted the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Other orchestras include the Czech Philharmonic and the Munich Radio Orchestra.
He has performed with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the Houston Symphony. He also debuted with the Netherlands Radio Chamber Philharmonic. This performance was at Amsterdam's famous Concertgebouw. He often performs at summer music festivals too. These include the Aspen Music Festival and the Moritzburg Festival.

Awards and Recognition
Josep Caballé-Domenech has received several awards. He won the Aspen Prize from the American Academy of Conducting at Aspen. He was chosen as a special student by Sir Colin Davis. This was part of the first Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative.
He also won the 1st Concurso Jóvenes Directores de Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias in 2000. In 2001, he won the 13th Nicolai Malko International Competition for Young Conductors. These awards show his great talent as a young conductor.
