Joseph Ndo's Football Journey

Starting in Cameroon

Joseph Ndo began his football career in 1995 with a team called Canon Yaoundé. Two years later, in 1997, he moved to Coton Sport FC de Garoua. With Coton Sport, he helped his team win the Elite One league title in 1998. After this success, he left Africa to play football in Europe.

Playing in Europe: Switzerland and France

Ndo's first European club was Neuchâtel Xamax in Switzerland. He played for them during the 1998–99 season. His team finished in sixth place that year.

After Switzerland, he joined Racing Club Strasbourg in France. He played for Strasbourg for two seasons, from 1999 to 2001. During this time, his team won the 2000–01 Coupe de France, which is a big cup competition in France. However, in the same season, the club was also moved down to a lower league called Ligue 2. After this, Ndo decided to move to Asia.

Adventures in Asia

Joseph Ndo spent one season with a club in Saudi Arabia called Al-Khaleej. After that, he moved to China to play for Chengdu Blades. He played one season with them, and the team finished in sixth place.

Success in Ireland

Ndo's journey then took him to Ireland. His first Irish club was St Patrick's Athletic, which he joined in 2003. After the 2003 season, he signed with Shelbourne, a rival team from Dublin, in 2004. He played his first game for Shelbourne in August against Cork City.

In 2006, Ndo scored an important goal for Shelbourne in a European competition called the UEFA Intertoto Cup. He helped Shelbourne win the league title in 2006. This was their third league title in four years! Because of his great play, his fellow professional players voted him the PFAI Player of the Year in November 2006. He was also chosen for the PFAI Team of the Year.

After his time with Shelbourne, Ndo returned to St Patrick's Athletic in December 2006. In July 2008, he went on loan to Shamrock Rovers, where he scored one goal.

Winning with Bohemians

Ndo then joined Bohemians in 2009. He scored a goal in his very first game for the club, helping them win 1–0 against Dundalk. His excellent performances in March 2009 earned him the Player of the Month award.

On July 15, 2009, he scored a crucial goal in a Champions League qualifier against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria. This goal helped Bohemians get a 1–1 draw. Later that year, on September 26, Ndo added another medal to his collection when Bohemians won the League of Ireland Cup.

He continued to play a key role as Bohemians won their second League of Ireland Premier Division title in a row. Ndo scored vital goals in the final games of the season. For his amazing season, he was again voted onto the PFAI Team of the Year for 2009. Joseph Ndo is one of the few players who have played for all four of Dublin's biggest football clubs: St. Patrick's Athletic, Shelbourne, Shamrock Rovers, and Bohemians.

More Trophies with Sligo Rovers

He also played three times in the qualifying games for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. However, he did not play in the main tournament itself. After 2002, he decided not to play for Cameroon again. Overall, Ndo played 21 games for his country.
