Career highlights and awards

Joshia Gray (born September 9, 1993) is an American professional basketball player. He plays as a point guard for the Khasin Khuleguud team in Mongolia. Josh has also played for teams like the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League. Before becoming a pro, he played college basketball for Texas Tech, Odessa College, and LSU.

Early Life and High School Basketball

Josh Gray was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He faced some challenges growing up, which led him to attend different schools.

He first went to Washington-Marion Magnet High School. In his second year, he helped his team reach the state semifinals in Louisiana. Later, he moved to Christian Life Center Academy. There, he scored about 20 points per game. For his final high school year, Josh played at Wheatley High School. He averaged 24 points, 6 assists, and 3 steals, leading his team to the playoffs.

College Basketball Journey

Josh started his college basketball career at Texas Tech. As a freshman, he played about 26.7 minutes per game. He averaged 9.3 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.5 steals.

For his second year, he transferred to Odessa College. Here, he had an amazing season, averaging 34.7 points, 5.9 assists, and 2.7 steals. His great performance earned him the First Team JC All-America award and the conference MVP title.

After Odessa, Josh moved to LSU for his junior year. He was able to play right away because Odessa was a junior college. At LSU, he averaged 7.1 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 3.8 assists as a junior. In his senior year, he played alongside future NBA star Ben Simmons.

Professional Basketball Career

Starting in the G League (2016–2018)

After college, Josh didn't get picked in the NBA draft right away. However, he tried out for the Orlando Magic and other teams. He was then signed by the Northern Arizona Suns in October 2016. This team is part of the NBA G League.

Josh made his professional debut on November 12, 2016. He scored 13 points in a win against the Iowa Energy. Later that month, he achieved his first "triple-double." This means he had double-digit numbers in three categories: 24 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists in one game.

Playing for the Phoenix Suns (2018)

In February 2018, Josh got a big chance. The Phoenix Suns, an NBA team, signed him to a short contract. He made his NBA debut a day later, scoring 7 points. He also had a game with 9 points and 7 assists. After a few games, he returned to the Northern Arizona Suns.
