José de Ledesma was born in Burgos, a city in Spain, in 1630. From a young age, he showed a talent for art. He began his artistic training right there in his hometown.
His Artistic Journey
After learning the basics in Burgos, Ledesma decided to move to Madrid. Madrid was a big city and a center for art at the time. There, he joined the art school of a famous painter named Juan Carreño de Miranda. Studying with Carreño de Miranda helped Ledesma develop his skills even further. He became known for painting large canvases, often with religious themes. José de Ledesma passed away in 1670.
