João Carlos dos Santos, known simply as João Carlos, is a former Brazilian football player and manager. He was born on September 10, 1972. João Carlos played as a defender, which means his main job on the field was to stop the other team from scoring goals. He was a strong player who also had the chance to play for the Brazil national team. After his playing days, he became a football manager, guiding different teams.

João Carlos began his journey with Democrata–Sete Lagoas in 1992. He then moved to Cruzeiro, one of Brazil's biggest clubs, where he played from 1994 to 1999. During this time, he also had loan spells at Democrata-GV and Mamoré.
