Juan Alvarado y del Saz (born in 1856, died in 1935) was an important Spanish lawyer and politician. He held several high-ranking positions in the Spanish government during the time of Alfonso XIII, who was the King of Spain.
Juan Alvarado served as a minister in charge of different parts of the government. Roles in Government
Juan Alvarado was chosen to be a deputy in the Spanish Congress, which is like being a representative in a parliament. He represented the Province of Huesca in many elections from 1886 to 1923. This means people in Huesca voted for him to speak for them in the government.
He held several important jobs as a minister:
- Minister of Navy: From July to November 1906, he was in charge of Spain's navy. This was under a government led by José López Domínguez.
- Minister of the Treasury: From October 1909 to February 1910, he managed the country's money and finances. This was when Segismundo Moret was leading the government.
- Minister of Justice: From October 1913 to April 1917, he oversaw the legal system and courts.
