Juan Ramón Cazares Sevillano, born on April 3, 1992, is a talented Ecuadorian footballer. He plays as an attacking midfielder for the Ecuadorian club Independiente del Valle.

Juan Cazares' Football Journey

Starting His Career

Juan Cazares was born in Quinindé, Esmeraldas, Ecuador. When he was young, he moved to Guayaquil. At 14, in 2006, he joined the youth team of Barcelona.

Later, in 2009, he moved to Norte América. In the same year, he joined Independiente José Terán, which is now known as Independiente del Valle. He made his first professional appearance for Independiente in 2009. He played nine matches and scored one goal.

Playing for River Plate

In January 2010, Cazares was loaned to River Plate in Argentina. He played so well that River Plate decided to sign him permanently in August 2011.

Cazares made his first team debut for River Plate on December 7, 2011. He was the first Ecuadorian player to ever play for the club. In 2012, he helped River Plate's B-team win the 2012 U-20 Copa Libertadores. He was even named the best player of that tournament!

He played his first match in the top Argentine league, the Primera División, on August 26, 2012. However, after a change in coaches, he was not used much and was put on the loan list.

Loan to Barcelona SC

On February 25, 2013, Cazares returned to his first club, Barcelona, on a six-month loan. He played two matches for them before going back to River Plate in July.

Loan to Banfield

On July 10, 2013, Cazares was loaned to Banfield. He reunited with his former River Plate coach there. He made his debut for Banfield on August 5.

Cazares scored his first goals for Banfield on December 7, 2013, scoring two goals in one match. He became a key player for the team. That season, he scored four goals in 38 games. His team won the league and was promoted to the top division.

In July 2014, his loan to Banfield was extended. He scored his first goal in Argentina's top league on August 24.

Moving to Atlético Mineiro

On December 27, 2016, Cazares joined Atlético Mineiro, a big club in Brazil. He made his debut for them on February 24, 2016, in the Copa Libertadores tournament. He scored his first goal for the club on March 17.

Cazares quickly became an important player for Atlético Mineiro. He scored many goals, including two in one game against Botafogo. He was the fourth-highest goal scorer for the club that year.

In 2017, Cazares continued to score important goals. He helped Atlético Mineiro win the Mineiro Championship, which was his first trophy with the club. He also scored two goals in a Copa Libertadores match against Godoy Cruz.

Playing for Other Clubs

On September 26, 2020, Cazares joined Corinthians in Brazil. He played regularly for them for a while. However, in April 2021, he left the club.

The very next day, on April 15, 2021, Cazares was loaned to Fluminense. He played for them until January 2022.

After that, on January 22, 2022, Cazares moved to Metalist Kharkiv in Ukraine. However, due to the situation in Ukraine, he was allowed to leave.

On April 4, 2022, Cazares joined Independiente in Argentina on loan. In July, he signed a permanent contract with them until December 2023. He left the club in July 2023.

On August 22, 2023, Cazares returned to Brazil and signed with América Mineiro. He played 12 matches for them, but the club was relegated from the top league.

In 2024, on January 4, Cazares joined Santos, another big Brazilian club. He made his debut on January 20. He scored his first goal for Santos on March 9, 2024. He left Santos on June 28, 2024.

On July 2, 2024, Cazares joined Paysandu, another team in Brazil's second division.

Playing for His Country

Juan Cazares played for the Ecuador under-20 team in 2011. He scored a goal in the South American U-20 Championship.

On September 6, 2014, he made his debut for the senior Ecuador national team. He scored a goal in a friendly match against Bolivia. He continued to play for the national team in important tournaments like the 2015 Copa América and Copa América Centenario.
