Juan Soreda was a Spanish painter from the time of the Renaissance. He passed away in August 1537. Juan Soreda worked in several cities in Spain. These included Sigüenza, Valladolid, and Burgo de Osma-Ciudad de Osma. He was known to work with another artist named Fernando del Rincón in 1506.

What Juan Soreda Painted
Juan Soreda created many beautiful paintings. Many of his artworks showed important moments from the Christian faith.
Paintings in Torremocha del Pinar
In the church in Torremocha del Pinar, you can find several of Soreda's works. These paintings show:
- The Annunciation, which is when an angel told Mary she would have a baby.
- The Visitation, when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth.
- The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, when Jesus was brought to the temple as a baby.
- The Crucifixion, which shows Jesus on the cross.
There is also a painting of the Circumcision of Jesus in the same church. Some people think Soreda painted it, while others believe it was painted by Pedro de la Puente.
Works in Sigüenza and Olivares de Duero
For the Sigüenza Cathedral, Soreda painted Saint Librada. This saint's story is sometimes mixed up with another saint named Wilgefortis.
One of Soreda's most famous paintings is of Saint Pelagius. This artwork is in the church named after the saint. It is called Iglesia de San Pelayo and is located in Olivares de Duero.
