Juan Valdelmira de León (born around 1630, died around 1660) was a Spanish painter. He was famous for his beautiful still-life paintings. These artworks often showed fruits and flowers.
Juan Valdelmira de León was born in a region of Spain called Navarre. He learned how to paint from his own father in the city of Valladolid. After his father passed away, Juan moved to Madrid. There, he joined the art school of a well-known painter named Francisco Rizi.
Working with a Master
Juan Valdelmira de León helped Francisco Rizi with many of his art projects. They worked together on paintings in several places. These included a Portuguese church in Toledo and a place called the Retiro.
His Special Talent
Even though he helped with other types of art, Juan Valdelmira de León was best at painting flowers. His flower paintings were his greatest skill. He created many detailed and colorful artworks of flowers. Sadly, he died when he was only about 30 years old.
