Juan Castaño Quirós (born 10 April 1971), known as Juanele, is a Spanish former football player. He played as a forward.
Juanele played 346 games in La Liga, scoring 61 goals. He played for Sporting de Gijón, Tenerife, and Zaragoza. He also won the Copa del Rey twice with Real Zaragoza.
He played five games for the Spanish national team in 1994. He was part of the team for the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

Juanele's Football Career
Playing for Clubs
Juanele was born in Gijón, Asturias. He began his professional career with his hometown club, Sporting de Gijón. He played his first game in La Liga when he was 20 years old. In his first season, 1991–92, he scored three goals in 24 games. He became a regular player in the team in the years that followed.
In June 1994, Juanele joined CD Tenerife. He was a key player in their attack. Tenerife reached the semi-finals of the 1996–97 UEFA Cup. He scored important goals in that competition. For example, he scored twice against S.S. Lazio and Feyenoord. He also scored 15 league goals in 60 matches for Tenerife. The team finished in the top ten twice, including fifth place in 1996. This led to their exciting European games.
After Tenerife was relegated in 1999, Juanele moved to Real Zaragoza. He helped Zaragoza win two Copa del Rey trophies. These wins happened in the early 2000s. He later left Zaragoza in 2004. He then played for Terrassa FC in the Segunda División for one season. After that, he joined Real Avilés CF.
In 2006–07, Juanele played briefly for amateur teams. These were SD Atlético Camocha and TSK Roces. Both teams played in the regional leagues in Asturias. He stopped playing football at the end of that season.
Playing for Spain
Juanele played five games for the Spanish national team in 1994. He scored two goals for Spain. His first goal was in his debut game on 19 January. This was a 2–2 draw against Portugal. His second goal was five months later, in a 2–0 win against Canada. He was chosen for the 1994 FIFA World Cup team. However, he did not play in any games during the tournament.
Juanele also played two games for the Asturias regional team. His first game for Asturias was a friendly match. It was against Macedonia on 23 December 2000. He scored the only goal in that game. This was the team's first game in 64 years.

Life After Football
After retiring from playing, Juanele opened a football school. He started this school with his former teammate from Sporting, Iván Iglesias.
