Judith Cochrane was born on October 31, 1975. She is a politician from Northern Ireland and a member of the Alliance Party. She served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for the East Belfast constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly from 2011 to 2016.

Early Life and Education

Judith Cochrane grew up in East Belfast, where she has lived her whole life. She was born and raised in Bloomfield. She went to Strandtown Primary School and Methodist College Belfast.

After school, she studied Nutrition at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. Later, she returned to Belfast. She completed her Master's degree in Business Administration at Queen's University, Belfast.

Political Career

Before becoming an MLA, Judith Cochrane was a Councillor. She served on the Castlereagh Borough Council from 2005 to 2011. A Councillor is someone elected to represent people in a local area. They help make decisions for their local community.

She also worked for the Department for Social Development. She was a management consultant for small and medium-sized businesses in Northern Ireland.

Time in the Assembly

From 2011 to 2016, Judith Cochrane was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA). An MLA is like a Member of Parliament, but for Northern Ireland. They work in the Northern Ireland Assembly at Stormont. Their job is to make laws and decisions for Northern Ireland.

During her time at Stormont, she was part of important groups. She sat on the Finance and Personnel Committee. She was also a member of the Assembly Commission.
