Judith Deborah Rakers (born on January 6, 1976) is a well-known German journalist and television presenter. She is famous for presenting the main news show in Germany, called Tagesschau.

Early Life and Education

Judith Rakers was born in Paderborn, a city in West Germany. She grew up in a town called Bad Lippspringe with her father.

After finishing school at Pelizaeus-Gymnasium Paderborn, Judith went to the University of Münster. From 1995 to 2001, she studied different subjects. These included journalism, which is about reporting news, and communication studies. She also studied German language and history.

Starting Her Career

While she was still studying at university, Judith Rakers started working in radio. She was a radio presenter for local radio stations like Radio Hochstift and Antenne Münster. This helped her gain experience in broadcasting.

From 2004 to 2010, Judith presented the Hamburg Journal. This was a local news show for the TV station Norddeutscher Rundfunk. It covered news and events happening in the city of Hamburg.

Becoming a News Anchor

Judith Rakers became a very important face on German television. From 2005 until 2024, she presented the Tagesschau news program. This is the main news show on ARD, one of Germany's biggest TV channels.
