Judith Suminwa Tuluka, born on October 19, 1967, is an important politician from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). She became the Prime Minister of the DRC in June 2024. This was a big moment because she is the first woman ever to hold this high position in her country. Before becoming Prime Minister, she worked as a Minister of State and Minister of Planning.

Early Life and Education
Judith Suminwa Tuluka was born in a place called Kongo Central on October 19, 1967. Her father was an ambassador, representing their country in Chad. This was during the time when Mobutu Sese Seko was president.
She studied at the Catholic University of Mons and earned a degree in applied economic sciences. She also got a master's degree in applied economics from Université libre de Bruxelles. In 1997, she returned to the DRC and started working at Citibank.
Her Career in Politics
After working in banking, Suminwa joined the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. There, she helped with administrative and financial tasks. Later, she became a member of the United Nations Development Programme, which works to improve lives around the world.
She is a member of a political party called the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS). She also served as a deputy coordinator for the Presidential Council for Strategic Monitoring. In 2023, she was appointed as the Minister of State and Minister of Planning in the government led by Prime Minister Sama Lukonde.
Prime Minister Lukonde resigned in February 2024. After this, Judith Suminwa Tuluka was chosen to become the new Prime Minister. She made history as the first woman to hold this top job in the DRC. Her first government team included 54 people, with 18 of them being women.
Personal Life
Judith Suminwa is married to Roger Tuluka. They met in Belgium in the 1990s. Roger Tuluka was a classmate of the current President of the DRC, Félix Tshisekedi.
Her Views on Important Issues
Judith Suminwa has spoken out about the situation in eastern DRC. She has criticized Rwanda for its involvement in the conflict there. She has stated that Rwanda has occupied parts of eastern DRC. She also believes that Rwanda supports rebel groups, like the Congo River Alliance, that are trying to overthrow the DRC's government.
