Location and Travel
Julián Augusto Saldívar is about 20 kilometers east of the town of Ypané, which is near the Paraguay River. A very important spot in the city is at kilometer 27 on Ruta 1. Here, the road splits into three directions. This fork is called Tres Bocas, which means "Three Mouths." It's a key point for travelers who want to go to the southern parts of Paraguay.
Religion in the City
Like most of Paraguay, the main religion in Julián Augusto Saldívar is Catholicism. However, missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints have also shared their beliefs. They have gained many followers among the people living in the area.
The Name Posta Leiva
The city's other name, Posta Leiva, comes from a man named Don Leiva. He was one of the first people to live in this area. Don Leiva set up a trading post where travelers could buy goods from his market. He was also known for helping others who were not as lucky as he was.
After Don Leiva passed away in the mid-1980s, his family and the community wanted to honor him. They tried to rename the city Julián Augusto Saldívar back to Posta Leiva. This was to remember his kindness and compassion towards his family and the people he worked with every day.
