Juli Grbac was born in 1978. She grew up in Brisbane, Australia. From a young age, Juli loved fashion. Her mother, who was a dressmaker, taught her how to sew.
Juli studied fashion design in Brisbane at Gateway TAFE. She then continued her studies in London at Central Saint Martins. This is a very famous design school. After returning from London, she worked for different fashion companies. In 2002, she started her own fashion label called "Grbac".

Juli's "Grbac" label sold clothes in top Australian stores. She also opened her own shop in Brisbane. The shop was in the TC Beirne Centre. It stayed open for two years.
Winning Project Runway Australia
In 2008, Juli Grbac competed in Project Runway Australia. This was the very first season of the show. She won the competition, showing off her amazing design skills.
One of her most famous designs on the show was a dress. She made it for the singer Kelly Rowland. Kelly Rowland wore this special dress at a concert. The concert was for Prince Albert of Monaco in Cannes, France.
After Her Big Win
