Chef Julian Serrano's Journey
Julian Serrano was born in Madrid, Spain. He studied at a special hotel management school in Marbella, Spain. This helped him learn all about running restaurants and cooking great food.
After school, Julian worked in many different places around the world. He cooked in fancy restaurants in Paris, France, and Zurich, Switzerland. He even worked on Caribbean cruise ships! These experiences helped him become a very skilled chef.
In 1983, Julian moved to San Francisco, USA. There, he helped open a restaurant called Masa's. This was an important step in his career in America.
Later, in 1998, Julian moved to Las Vegas. He became the Executive Chef at a famous restaurant called Picasso, located inside the Bellagio hotel. He also has another restaurant named after him at the Aria. This restaurant serves tasty Spanish tapas and uses cool new cooking methods called molecular gastronomy. Molecular gastronomy is a way of cooking that uses science to create new textures and flavors.
In 2015, he opened another restaurant called LAGO at the Bellagio. It's a popular spot for Italian food.
In May 2024, Julian Serrano shared news about his upcoming retirement. His restaurant, Picasso, will close its doors in August 2024.
